The city of Burgos was designated a historical centre in 1967. The River Arlanzón flows through this city of monuments, whose cathedral of well-deserved fame, on the World Heritage list, should not eclipse visits to other important buildings in the old city. We recommend you enter the city taking the Arlanzón as your guide. It’s a well looked-after river with interesting wildlife on its banks. Burgos, intimately connected with the historical and legendary figure of El Cid, is today a very attractive tourist city that is easy to visit.
