If you are looking to ‘lose yourself’ for a few days in little-known, fascinating Spanish areas with incredible villages and views and some of the best heritage and history in Europe, choose one or more routes on the Way of El Cid and immerse yourself in one of the most exciting times of our history: the Spanish Middle Ages.
The routes by road along the Way of El Cid cover 2021 km and cross a wide variety of lands. There are 11 routes of between 45 and 357 km each, joined together so that you can adapt your holidays as you please by combining different routes together.
Most of the roads are unique minor roads, some with uneven surfaces, which will take you completely into an astonishing land often away from main roads. Some of our routes are very attractive for motorcyclists and represent a classic among long distance routes.

Careful, cyclists
Much of the route for vehicles is also the route for road bikes: respect the cyclists you find on your way, keep a safe distance when overtaking and remember that there are usually other cyclists in front of the one in front of you.

- 2 days: Anillo del Maestrazgo / Maestrazgo Circular route (Teruel, Castellón).
- 2-3 days: La Conquista de Valencia / The Conquest of Valencia (Teruel, Castellón, Valencia).
- 2-3 days: La Defensa del Sur / Defending the South (Valencia, Alicante).
- 3 days: Tierras de frontera / The Border Lands (Guadalajara, Soria, Zaragoza).
- 3 days: El Destierro / The Exile (Burgos, Soria, Guadalajara).
- 3 days: Las tres Taifas / The Three Petty Kingdoms (Zaragoza, Guadalajara, Teruel).
