THE WAY OF EL CID CONSORTIUM PUBLISHES A TOURIST BROCHURE IN ENGLISH ABOUT THIS GREAT SPANISH CULTURAL ROUTE

El gerente del Consorcio Camino del Cid, Alberto Luque, expone los pasos que se están dando para la promoción exterior de la ruta al presidente de Castellón, José Martí y a la diputada de Turismo, Virginia Martí

The Way of El Cid Consortium is a not-for-profit Spanish public institution whose aim is to promote the Way of El Cid, a route that crosses much of Spain in the footsteps of El Cid.

Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, better known as El Cid, was an 11th-century medieval knight whose deeds were described in an epic poem written in the late 12th century: Cantar de Mío Cid.

Numerous novels, poems, plays, operas and even films have made El Cid a legendary figure, well known both inside and outside Spain.

The Way of El Cid (Camino del Cid route) offers the opportunity to know some of the most important places connected with this historical figure, following a route that powerfully evokes the Middle Ages. It crosses Spain over a distance of more than 2000km, through regions of great historical, artistic and natural value, many of them little known and very distant from the typical tourist sites associated with this country. It can be followed by car, on MTB bikes along country tracks, on foot or by cycling tourism on minor roads with very little traffic. All the routes are signposted.

The Way of El Cid Consortium has now published a brochure in English, available in any of the tourist information offices on the Way. It contains information about El Cid, the different routes forming this Way, the most important places, and some travel advice, as well as a map of the route.

It can also be downloaded free of charge by clicking here.
