The CM-2111 road gradually reveals, kilometre after kilometre, new landscapes in the High Tagus Natural Park. A simple look-out point signposted from the road on a bend next to Checa Pass allows travellers to enjoy a lovely view of the valley of the Jándula rivulet. The gentle flow in the rivulet irrigates a wide valley of fertile soil in between small hills where the vegetation is conditioned by the type of rock and orientation. Pines, evergreen and deciduous oaks, and shrubs can be seen between the bare beds of limestone. In the middle of the valley, the hermitage of Santa Quiteria is alone, in a state of semi-ruin, humbly concealing its Romanesque origin. The village of Megina is at the end of the valley, at the foot of San Cristóbal hill, and a small gorge can be glimpsed, carved by the Jándula after its confluence with the River Cabrillas.
The strategic position of the look-out point, in the transition between the valleys of the Cabrillas and Jándula, makes it an excellent place to observe birds of prey, such as the goshawk, booted and short-toed eagles, buzzard and sparrowhawk.
- Access by car: the look-out point is reached directly from the road, a few metres away, on small area of ground used as a car park.
- Access for people with limited mobility: there are no infrastructures adapted for people with limited mobility, but the panorama can be enjoyed from the cars.
- Legal protection: it is inside the Natural Park of the High Tagus, the Site of Community Importance ES24240016, the Special Protection Area ES0000092 and the Molina-High Tagus Geopark.
- Seasonality: it can be visited at any time of the year. Like any other view, the landscape changes with the seasons, and differs greatly depending on the climatology in the area.
