Battle at Pinar de Tévar
Ubicación:
The battle took place at a site located off route, in the pine wood of Pereroles, 14 kms north from Morella (along road N-232). Morella
The second pitched battle described in El Cantar took place at Pinar de Tévar (which some scholars place at the pine wood of Pereroles in La Pobla d'Alcolea, in the province of Castellón). The battle was fought against the count of Barcelona, Berenguer Ramón II, who had joined forces with the Moors. Even though the military capability of the count and the Moors was greater, El Cid defeated the Christian count, who became his prisoner and gave him his riches.
